Recently, a buddy welcomed me to slow and stop down. Simply for a couple of minutes.
I slipped off my shoes and felt the cool stepping stones in her garden under my feet. In a couple of brief minutes, with all systems slowed to the minute in front of me, I seemed like Alice in Wonderland-one minute launching at the giant, waving leaf of a tropical banana tree and the next minute bent down, in wonder at the mini, star-shaped moss tuft peeping out in between a fracture in the stones.
Ten minutes later on, as I completed this strolling meditation in her garden, revitalized and all set to set about with my hectic day, I understood it was something I wished to keep in mind to continue as a routine practice for myself and show my preferred 7 years of age.
“” Hey,”” I stated to the curly haired kid, “” Wan na play The Slow Motion Game with me?””
“” What ' s that?”” he reacted, with the eager apprehension of a 7 years of age who has actually been around the block and played a zillion video games or more in his life time up until now.
“” Well, it ' s a sort of discovery video game. We slow dooooown.”” I began talking in sluggish movement speak. “” And when we look arooooound we see things that we ' ve neeeeeeverrr seeeeeen beforrrrrrre.””
I might see the stimulate of interest lit in his eyes now.
“” And who discovers the most cool things is the winner?”” he shouted excitedly.
“” Sure, something like that.””
Five … Close your eyes
Four … Slowing down
Three … Your mind is falling asleep
Two … Your body is getting extremely unwinded
One … You remain in sluggish movement mode. Open your eyes … And GO … slowwwwwww w …
Our bare feet made their method gradually through the garden. The dirt felt great sinking in between my toes. I bewared of the corner of my eye as the kid did his finest sluggish mummy walk then formerly bent down.
Between the 2 people, we found treasures galore in our familiar yard area.
An army of ants coming out of small hole in the flower bed, an intense green arrowhead-shaped grow shooting out ninety degrees from a tree branch, an infant fly sunning its clear wings, an infant bee ringing. We found the shiny, firmly curled leaf of a waxy flower pressing its method up, and crystalline water drops being in the very center of a royal succulent. A household of pincher bugs scampered away as we studied the natural, hieroglyphic markings on an old tree stump.
Long after we completed playing, the curly haired kid was still bent over, taking a look at potato bugs snuggled in tree hollows or searching for through tree branches, finding much more hidden treasures in the garden.
I did not point out to the wild-haired one the part that we would feel ourselves returning to ourselves throughout this video game.
I did not point out that by decreasing our spinning minds, we would perk up all our other senses, as we entered into the world in front of us.
I did not point out that by decreasing, we reconnect and charge with that essential source within us.
I did not point out that part to him. I did not need to.
Yes, this was a great video game.
